The innovation and collaboration expertise of IXC UK (InnovationXchange UK Ltd) has supported the Department for Transport’s (DfT) Rail Innovation Team in achieving a prestigious nomination for embedding innovation in rail.
The shortlisting for the Civil Service Awards recognises the success of the Innovation in Franchising programme- comprising members from DfT, the rail industry’s innovation accelerator (FutureRailway), the rail safety and standards board (RSSB), the rail industry’s skills academy (NSARE), train operating companies, Transport Systems Catapult, Transport Research Laboratory (TRL), Gutteridge Haskins & Davey (GHD), and innovation consultants InnovationXchange (IXC UK)- securing nomination for the ‘Supporting Enterprise and Growth Award.’
This collaboration of Government and industry is contributing to a renaissance in rail, with the Rail Innovation Team’s Innovation in Franchising programme demonstrating the key award criteria of innovation, working in partnership, sustainability, impact and measurable benefits, via increasing investment in innovation tenfold, plus realistic benefits of £1 billion- all ready to meet the anticipated doubling of demand for rail.
As a member of the Innovation in Franchising programme, IXC- leading practitioners of innovation and collaborative development- are supporting FutureRailway and the DfT in enabling innovation through all stages of the train operator franchising process.
