Spotlight on innovation: Worcestershire
IXC joined with other innovative organisations and stakeholders last week in establishing a regional Innovation Ecosystem.
International, national and local innovation
With headquarters in Birmingham, West Midlands, UK, IXC Innovation consultants work with multinational clients throughout the world. However, it is incredibly rewarding to be nurturing and driving innovation closer to home.
As such, it was a pleasure to partake in the Worcestershire Innovation Network (WINN) last week at the University of Worcester Arena. Designed to bring networks of highly-knowledgeable and creative communities together into a successful, collaborative innovation group, over 100 businesses were involved.
Award winning speakers
Jamie Turner, CEO of big data tech firm PCA Predict, gave the keynote talk:

Regarding the keynote, Commercial Director at IXC, Russ Noble, commented that it was, “inspiring to hear a 2016 Queens Award for Innovation winner singing the praises of a small company’s creative and innovative talent and workforce. They have established a strong business- successfully competing with the likes of dot.com businesses normally associated with central London- and now looking to establish itself internationally: all from offices in central Worcester.”
Innovation ecosystems
Russ concluded about the event: “This was an exciting opportunity to be involved with a local innovation ecosystem initiative. The event focussed on introducing interested members of this innovation group, and I look forward to IXC’s involvement, being part of shaping future innovation in the County.”
IXC would like to say a big thank you to the creators of this innovation programme:
- Worcester County Council
- Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP)
- QinetiQ
- University of Worcester
