A government-sponsored competition encouraging innovation in the rail industry has now launched.
Rail minister Claire Perry opened the challenge on Tuesday 17th March at The Royal Society of Medicine in London to spur innovation among train operators and the supply chain. Proposals are invited which enhance customer experience, expand capacity, reduce costs and reduce carbon.
The ‘Train Operator Competition’ (TOC’15) is a government-industry initiative, involving the Department for Transport and the rail industry’s innovation accelerator, FutureRailway. Innovation consultants IXC UK (InnovationXchange®), who were also at the launch, are supporting FutureRailway in connecting and collaborating via promotion and outreach to potential innovators.
